Overview

Lovly ("we", "us", "our") is a couple connection app. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

Apple ID: We use Sign in with Apple to authenticate you. We receive your name (if you choose to share it) and a unique identifier. We do not receive your email unless you share it.

Content You Create

• Drawings: Canvas drawings shared between you and your partner
• Moods: Mood selections you check in
• Messages: Mini messages and love notes sent to your partner
• Memories: Photos and captions you save (stored securely)
• Daily prompts: Your answers to daily questions
• Bucket list & countdowns: Items you add

Automatically Collected

• Device token: For push notifications (only if you grant permission)
• App usage data: Analytics events about how the app is used — screens opened, features used, purchases — collected through Firebase Analytics
• Crash and performance diagnostics: If the app crashes, a report including the device model and OS version, collected through Firebase Crashlytics
• Advertising identifier (IDFA): Only if you allow tracking when asked. See Tracking and advertising below

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core Lovly experience (syncing content between partners)
• To send push notifications about partner activity (only with your permission)
• To manage your subscription
• To improve the app experience
• To measure which advertising campaigns bring people to Lovly, if you allow tracking

We do NOT:

• Sell your data to anyone
• Show you advertising inside Lovly
• Target advertising at you based on your content
• Share your drawings, messages, moods, memories or prompt answers with anyone other than your paired partner
• Access or read your private content

Tracking and advertising

Lovly shows no ads, and nothing you or your partner create is ever used to target advertising. There is one thing we do that Apple defines as tracking, and we would rather state it plainly than bury it.

When you first open Lovly, iOS asks whether you allow the app to track you. If — and only if — you allow it, we pass your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to RevenueCat, our subscription provider, so that a new install can be matched to the ad that led to it. That tells us which campaigns are worth running. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it carries none of your content.

If you decline, or if you never answer, no advertising identifier is collected and the app behaves exactly the same in every other respect. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

Separately, Firebase Analytics receives your approximate region, derived from a masked IP address. It is not precise location, and Lovly never asks for location permission.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with encryption in transit and at rest. Data is associated with your couple account and is only accessible to you and your paired partner.

Data Retention

• Your data is retained as long as your account is active
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes all your data
• Unpaired data is deleted when you sign out

Children's Privacy

Lovly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications
• Refuse or withdraw tracking permission, on your device, at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app.
